Myths and Legends

I may look plain,
but the dragons I’ve slain
in the depths of my heart
make me stand apart
with the strength I’ve gained.

The crowd pressing in,
too many, too much, too loud –
I must get away.

Once upon a time,
their love was like no other.
Once upon a time…

Kith and kin:
the ones who’re in
when you have no plan,
when the shit hits the fan,
but you still push for the win.

Amid the chaos,
there is beauty to be found,
and there’s hope as well.

It’s been raining in my heart
ever since we fell apart,
and my ocean swells and sways
as I spend my rainy days
looking for a new start.

So many flavours,
I must sample each in turn
to find my favourites.

After the sunset,
the world is ready to sleep;
we crave adventures.

Stand and fight
for what is right.
Plant your feet,
swear you’ll defeat
your fears this night.

We all have our masks:
parent, sibling, lover, child,
the great Masquerade.
