Now the end of the year
has drawn very near
tomorrow’s a new chance
for hope and romance –
what is there to fear?

Born in the winter,
is it any wonder that
I act so coldly.

I feel like I’ve lost
that childhood merriment this
holiday season.

We’re driving every which way
on Christmas eve, Christmas day
to see siblings, cousins, aunts,
and everyone’s grandparents
for holiday parties.

Brightly colored gifts
with your name written on top –
surprises inside.

Father Christmas and more…
Whatever name you know him by –
Listen!

This Christmas season
I just want good memories,
tied up in a bow.

Leave the porch light on
so we can find our way home
on the darkest nights.
